Mark Pendlington

Mark supports a wide range of organisations in Suffolk and has extensive experience of working across the public and private sectors including in industry, with local authorities, national and regional voluntary organisations, further and higher education, and in economic development with local enterprise partnerships. 

His current roles include being Patron of the Green Light Trust; Chair of governors at The Royal Hospital School; Chair, University of Suffolk; Trustee of the British Racing School in Newmarket; Chair of Trustees for the Diocese of Suffolk; and Non-Exec Chair of Cefas in Lowestoft. 

Mark is also responsible for promoting The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise to help bring well-deserved recognition for business excellence across the county. 

Mark is Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk.

Caroline Bixby

Caroline is a FCIPD qualified HR, Coach and Mentor. She has worked in a range of sectors including Professional Services, FMCG, Leisure and Not for Profit, regionally, nationally and internationally. She is HR Director for Scrutton Bland, a regional Accountancy firm with offices across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex.

Caroline is passionate about equity of opportunity and that nature supports mental and physical wellbeing. She enjoys challenging the status quo and ensuring that purpose, strategy and delivery are aligned.

She is married, plays netball, loves Pilates and loves the outdoors. Her perfect afternoon is a walk through the woods on a sunny summer day with her family.

Caroline is Chair of Trustees and joined the board in 2019, becoming Chair in June 2020.

Owned by its members, over 260,000 of them, the East of England Co-operative Society is the largest independent retail business in East Anglia with more than 200 trading outlets located in over 70 towns and villages throughout Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. As CEO of the East of England Co-op Doug protects and nurtures the member’s legacy for this generation and the next. 

Doug is passionate about living and working in the East and has previously been Chair of New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership and Chair of their Agri-Food Industry Council. He became a Trustee of Green Light Trust in December 2020.

David Farrow

With an extensive career for Barclays Bank, dating back to 1990, David has worked across retail, business and corporate banking. He currently Heads up the UK Corporate banking business having previously ran the International Corporate Banking division

David joined as a Trustee in June 2016 and was Chair prior to Caroline

Married, with two children, David is actively involved in a number of Diversity and Inclusion initiatives

As well as playing drums in a local band, David is a keen VW camper owner.

Vivian Mushati

Vivian is the founder of See Your Life, an organisation working with young people to equip them with the knowledge and skills to manage who they are and their lives, and reduce wellbeing equalities, ultimately promoting better outcomes. She has experience in non-profits, education, youth work, and in multi-disciplinary settings, working with young people and vulnerable adults.

Vivian joined as Trustee in December 2022.

In a constantly changing world, having the necessary skills is an essential part of being able to meet the challenges of everyday life and thrive. Vivian is passionate about making a positive impact and believes in the power of nature and the role in plays in supporting and enhancing wellbeing and helping individuals move forward in life.

A chartered accountant with over 20 years’ experience as Finance Director for a number of charities, Jane joined as a trustee in June 2017.

Jane’s particular areas of expertise include strategic planning, financial reporting, forecasting and modelling, risk management, staff leadership and development, data protection, charity vat and corporate governance.

Jane has lived on the Essex/Suffolk border for 34 years and owns a very small wood.

NIgel McCurdy

Nigel is Director of N-MAC Consulting Limited, with a passionate interest in creating lasting legacies for places and people and enabling quality growth, effective partnerships and resilient communities. He has extensive executive leadership experience across the public sector in District and County Council portfolio directorates in the Eastern Region, including Planning, Economy and Leisure.

Nigel is an Honorary Squadron Commander with the United States Air Force, a Trustee/Director of Living Sport, enjoys rugby (only watching these days), and an ‘over par’ golfer. He is a keen outdoors person, lauding the natural environment as a place to keep physically active and mentally well. He is happiest when on the water and can frequently be found paddling the waterways of Cambridgeshire and the Norfolk and Cornish coast.

 Nigel joined GLT as a trustee in December 2022.

Jennifer Mailley

Jen has over twenty years of experience in crime research and control, and has previously worked as a senior analyst in the Crime and Policing Analysis Unit of the UK Home Office, as a project manager in South East Asia, and Programme Manager and later consultant for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

She joined the GLT Board of Trustees in December 2022 and brings expertise in helping the organisation to show its impact in an impartial and robust manner, so that lessons can be learnt about what works and what does not, and crucially why.

Nick North

Nick North leads BBC Audiences, made up of over 160 audience measurement specialists, data scientists, marketing scientists, analysts, research and brand insight teams; together with the Audience Services team handling direct interactions between the BBC and its audience; all working to ensure that the BBC delivers value to all licence fee paying households.

In this capacity, Nick is responsible for making sure the BBC has the insight to inform strategic and tactical decision making; and the audience data to shape more relevant, personalised online experiences, drawing on the signed-in data of over 45 million registered BBC Account users.

Nick joined the BBC in September 2014 from GfK where he spent 10 years in the management of its media research and audience measurement businesses, developing new data partnerships and technology acquisitions.

Nick joined GLT as a trustee in December 2022
