Our Volunteers

We are incredibly grateful to all our volunteers, in whatever capacity, for their invaluable support.

Green Light Trust could not run the charity as we do without the dedication, commitment and enthusiasm of our volunteers.

If you are interested in donating some of your valuable time to help support our vulnerable adults and children, please fill out our Volunteer Enquiry Form and one of our team will get back to you!

Delivery Team Volunteers

We have a wealth of 'hands on' volunteers who regularly contribute to the day to day running of courses in our woodlands; whether that be peer mentoring for new participants, helping to facilitate our conservation work with participants or sharing skills.

Professional Volunteers

We are also thrilled to have the support of highly skilled professional volunteers with a wealth of knowledge and experience in their own particular fields, who regularly donate their time and expertise to Green Light Trust. These volunteers might come from the worlds of Finance, Marketing, Charity Management, Fundraising or HR for example.  Read more below

Tim Pons - Finance

Tim joined GLT as a Professional Volunteer in February 2019.

After attaining his degree, Tim set up a business, with his father, which included property development, restaurant and a chain of retail outlets across the South West.

In 1993, Tim changed career and joined a major UK conservation charity on a short contract which ended up being a 25-year stint.

A qualified accountant Tim was Head of Finance for 15 years leading a team of 35 and working closely with senior staff and trustees on a number of strategic initiatives.

Tim and his wife recently completed a personal ambition to complete a self-build house.  Now that he has retired, Tim's next ambition is to drive down his golf handicap to single figures!

Tim’s connection with conservation and his personal experience of mental health issues have driven him to contribute his time to help the Green Light Trust.

In 2021 Tim took up the fixed term position of Finance Director.
