Staff

Our funders and corporate partners make it possible for us to continue to deliver all that we do, and we are always keen to hear from other businesses who may wish to be partners on our journey. However, Green Light Trust could not exist, nor achieve the incredible transformational work it does, without the staff, trustees, volunteers, supporters and community champions which help us thrive.

BA HONS (Fine Art Photography), PG DIP (Mental Health Nursing, RMN), SCMA (Sound Therapy)

Lea began working with Children and Young people within disadvantaged communities in London; teaching them photographic skills in youth clubs. She trained as a Mental Health Nurse 12 years ago and has since been striving to see a change in the way, we, as a society view and understand the difficulties that children and young people may face within various phases of growth and development. Lea has had the privilege of working with children and young people across all ages and in environments which are sometimes last options for families, as well as within their own communities and education settings via PRU’s (Pupil Referral Units).

A true desire to be part of the learning and healing that can come about through spending time connected with the natural world, is what drew Lea to Green Light Trust.

‘We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children’.

Having originally trained and worked in graphic design and illustration, Jon decided to bring his lifelong passion for nature to a career in conservation.

He originally volunteered as a marketing assistant for a wetland charity. From there Jon started working in outdoor conservation education and has done so ever since; eventually managing education and events for a wildlife park.

Jon has continued to do related design work, illustration, video editing, photography and social media, as well as learning support and tutoring for an animal management college.

The threads which run through all of this work are a joy in communicating with people about nature and a fulfilment from helping others get the best from themselves.

Grace is an Occupational Therapist and a massage therapist who works with children and young people; howeer she comes from a background of working within the charitable sector with young adults and children with complex emotional and physical health needs.

She has long since found that nature has a power to calm and support during difficult times, and it is often the place that helps her to ground and  re-connect with herself.

Grace has an allotment filled with rescue chickens. She finds that this and gardening organically support her with the daily pressures that life brings.

When not at work or at the allotment, Grace can be found on her paddleboard or in her kayak; going for a run through the countryside with her dog and  exploring new places with her husband.

As a primary school teacher with over 30 years teaching experience, I have embraced many changes in trends and thinking, expectations and requirements in Education but one of the most powerful and transformative experiences for me has been an introduction to Forest School.

Forest school sessions have served to reinforce my belief in how much children benefit from being immersed in the natural world, discovering and learning in this contextual environment through practical skills and problem solving, communication and self-awareness, investigations and discoveries, fresh air and freedom.

I love to spend time with my family, dog walking, being creative and I am very privileged to volunteer at Riding for the Disabled where I have met some incredibly inspiring people.
