Forest School Training Overview Green Light Trust were amongst the first to offer the Open College Network West Midlands qualifications in the UK and have been delivering quality Forest School training since 2005. Tutor The qualifications are led by Mell Harrison, who has over 30 years experience in delivering nature based, child-led learning including Forest School. Mell is nationally recognised and in 2019 Mell Harrison was awarded the Forest School Association's Endorsed trainers status. Mell has a unique way of delivering the course content, which from the very beginning is designed to support the development of community and nature connection. Mell currently practices Forest School weekly, with children and young people of all ages, and this experience brings current and valuable understanding to the course. Teachers, Nursery Nurses, Learning Support Assistants, Playworkers, Outdoor Education professionals and those who believe our children and nature need to connect more. Minimum age to train for Level 2 = 18 yrs Minimum age to train for Level 3 = 19 yrs* *Please note that the minimum age for qualified Forest School Leaders is 21. This is a Forest School Association and Department for Education requirement. As the course takes between 12-18 months to complete, you could still be eligible for the training if younger than 21 years of age. Who are the qualifications accredited by?
