learn about nature, make friends and have fun!
This will be a great opportunity to make friends, gain confidence and learn some new skills in a supportive and friendly environment out in nature.
When you arrive in the woods we will make a fire and have breakfast and a drink. Sitting around the campfire we will discuss the activities planned for the day. Depending on the weather, the time of year, and the interests of you and the other individuals in your group, what we do on that day will vary.
Activities such as green woodworking, woodland walks, den building, cooking, or wildlife identifications are some of the activities included.
Don’t worry if you have not tried these things before. Help is on hand, and all instructions, tools and safety equipment will be provided.
Between the morning and afternoon sessions, a lunch will be cooked on the campfire, so please let us know if there are any allergies or dietary requirements we need to be aware of.
If it makes you feel more comfortable, then you are very welcome to bring a packed lunch.
Each camp has a wonderful covered canopy as our base, so come rain or shine Green Light Trust courses go ahead, so please wear clothing and footwear which is suitable for the weather conditions. We do have raincoats, wellies and waterproof trousers available to borrow on request.
There is a fully functional Eco toilet in the woods for everyone’s use. We also have handwashing facilities in all camps to ensure the dirt can be washed away before eating!
