EARTH: Mental Health Would you like to get involved in woodland and countryside activities and at the same time improve your mental and physical wellbeing? Join in with the activities and learn at your own pace. Courses are designed to: improve mental and physical wellbeing increase confidence and self-esteem reduce anxiety and social isolation improve social and communication skills teach new practical and life skills build an appreciation and knowledge of the natural environment Types of activity include: Tree & hedge planting * Formative tree pruning * Coppicing * Scrub & ride maintenance * Green woodwork * Hedge laying * Hay raking by hand * Making green wood structures * Creating living willow structures * Willow weaving * Botanical surveys* Breeding bird surveys * Woodland art and crafts * Animal homes * Bush craft (shelters, fires and cooking) * Whittling * Green skills We regularly run FREE programmes for up to 12 people at all three of our locations. Takes all your worries away for a day.” - Course participant Women's Only Groups Our Women Only courses have a very similar aim and course content to our mixed groups but are designed for women who, due to adverse life experiences, feel safer in an all female environment. WHILST SOCIAL DISTANCING IS NO LONGER MANDATORY, WE WOULD ALSO ENCOURAGE ALLOWING OTHERS THEIR PERSONAL SPACE. WE DO HAVE IN PLACE VARIOUS HYGIENE MEASURES TO MINIMISE THE RISK OF TRANSMISSION OF DISEASE. WE WOULD ASK THAT YOU USE OUR HAND-CLEANING FACILITIES AND FOLLOW ANY GUIDANCE FROM STAFF RELATING TO SHARED TOOL ETC. USE. IF YOU ARE DUE TO ATTEND A GROUP IN PERSON AND YOU KNOW YOU MIGHT HAVE CORONAVIRUS, OR YOU ARE EXPERIENCING ANY SYMPTOMS SIMILAR TO THOSE RELATED TO CORONAVIRUS (PERSISTENT COUGH, FEVER, LOSS OF TASTE/SMELL) PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND AND CONTACT US TO LET US KNOW SO THAT WE CAN INITIATE ANY NECESSARY TRACK AND TRACE ACTION.
