East of England Training deliver outdoor First Aid to Forest School Practitioners through organisations such as the Green Light Trust. The course meets all requirements of outdoor and Forest School teaching providers and meets the statutory requirements under Ofsted and EYFS for Paediatric First Aid.
The course is appropriate for those working off-site on Forest School programs with adult helpers. To meet the Paediatric First Aid and Forest School requirements, Adult, Child and infant first aid will be included. The course is 16 hours and is in line with the requirements of other outdoor national governing bodies and the qualification is valid for 3 years.
This course will include: First aid kits and contents. Providing first aid to an adult, infant or a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally or not breathing normally. Providing first aid to an adult, infant or a child who has a major bleed or burn, who has a foreign body airway obstruction, with head and spinal injuries, who has sustained an electric shock and how to complete records relating to illnesses, injuries and emergencies. The treatment of various childhood and adult illnesses and diseases. The safe use of a defibrillator. Improvising First aid and casualty evacuation.
