The Level 2 to Level 3 top up course is a way for Forest School Level 2 Assistants to upgrade their existing qualification.
Friday 6th - Sunday 8th March 2020
Saturday 9th - Sunday 10th May 2020
16 hour Outdoor First Aid weekend - 16th & 17th November 2019 or other dates TBC
There is an assumption that you are either currently assisting at Forest School, or have very recent experience of doing so.
You will only need to attend 5 days face to face training, as opposed to 10 days on the Level 3.
You are also required to attend the 16 hour Outdoor First Aid weekend, if you do not have this qualification already.
You will need to provide a copy of your Forest School Level 2 Assistant certificate.
You will be required to conduct research in order to create a 3 year Management Plan and an Environmental Impact Assessment for your proposed Forest School site. You will also be required to create and submit a working Forest School file that includes a Guidebook for Helpers, information for parents and some policy documents.
Once all of the above elements are completed you will plan a Forest School programme and run a 6 session programme which will have to be documented in detail. A member of Green Light’s tutor team will attend one of these 6 sessions to assess your practice and delivery, and provide mentoring for the day.
Advice and support for all of the coursework will be given at the appropriate times.
On successful completion of the coursework, students should receive certification and be qualified as a Forest School Practitioner within 12 months of starting the course. All our courses are accredited by OCN and Green Light Trust is an OCN Recognised Centre.
Taking place at The Foundry in Lawshall, IP29 4PJ and our magical SSSI ancient woodland Frithy Wood in the same Village.
Cost per person: £750.00 top-up
£135.00 First Aid
