We Help People - Testimonials
I would like to thank you and your team for giving my son such a experience on the bush craft day. Rob really enjoyed the day and is definitely interested in coming again! !
Many thanks, and kind regards
Paul thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will be contacting you and Jasper to provide feedback personally. It was fabulous for so many reasons: perfect weather, in an environment he loves, excellent tuition, time for himself – it ticked all the boxes and he has a wonderful chair and footstool/table as an end product. Paul said Jasper took several photos so hopefully you will have seen them – Paul was especially proud of the “headrest” – he’d spent quite some time finding the right piece!
Thank you SO much for going to so much trouble in putting this course on, I know it was something GLT hadn’t done before and I’m really grateful to you for making it possible for him to have an amazing unusual Birthday Experience.
Special thanks too to Jasper – Paul learnt a lot from him, he was great.
Rustic Furniture Making
Hi thank you for the chair making weekend it was really good I thoroughly enjoyed it, I have given a review to Lindsay.
I cannot think of anything to grumble about, info how to find the wood was good, 2 days for course is about right, Jasper communicates very well very friendly.
A weekend in the wood making something and taking it home brilliant a real stress buster fantastic.
And thank you all once again

Rustic Furniture Making
I thought I should let you know how much I enjoyed the course last weekend. Jasper was an excellent teacher. He showed us how the basic furniture could be made and then allowed us all to develop our own creative ideas. It was very satisfying to choose your tree, cut it down and join it together to make something. I am very pleased with my rustic table.
I would have liked a leaflet identifying the tools and showing how the basic stool was made. My memory is not as good as it used to be !!
The directions to Frithy Woods were poor. I could not see the chicken farm and the car park was a track with a grass verge rather than a parking place. A "sandwich board " with FRITHY WOODS on it and an arrow would have been really helpful.
Thank you for organising the course

The course is exceptional on so many levels due to the huge breadth of experience of the trainers. Their professionalism in the delivery of a rich and thought provoking course is interwoven with warmth, care and passion for nature but also a passion for connection that makes the experience a life changing one. The style of delivery enabled us all to have first hand experiences of the principles that are key to delivering an effective Forest Schools experience.
Hitting the streets of London on return I headed to my favourite spot to ponder overlooking the river. It is now my sit spot and is integral to my daily wanderings.
I feel very privileged to have been on the Green Light training and highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of becoming involved in the growing force of Forest Schools.

Completing the Forest School Level 3 course has been a very positive experience and enriched my understanding and reflection - which in turn makes me better equipped to work with groups across my work for GLT.

Speaking about the weekly ECOS (Environmental Curriculum On Site) Forest School based learning sessions, led by Bec Edgar from Green Light Trust:
"Everything is going brilliantly so far. We are all really really pleased and the children are gaining a great deal. So, a big thank you".
Alastair Robinson, Head Teacher
ECOS learning at Wells Hall Community Primary School
I started the course on Monday with no idea of what to expect from the week ahead. I anticipated that a lot of time would be spent outside, but I worried that much of the 6 day course would involve staring at a PowerPoint presentation and being lectured about the benefits of Forest School for the young people it is aimed at. I was delighted to be proved so wrong!
By the end of the first day I knew that I had become involved with something very special and unique. I had been reading about holistic development and on the course I truly experienced the process for myself, and it was a remarkable journey of self-discovery. I am aware that as an adult it had been many years since I experienced the freedom and lack of inhibition that playing outdoors offered me. The hands-on way of learning and the practical skills I learned about were enlightening. Throughout the week I gradually become more emotionally honest and aware of my feelings, as well as my senses. I know that in 6 days I had an intense experience of Forest School but it was life-changing. Having played a part in my own holistic development, I know that if I can deliver that to the young people I will be working with then I will be helping to contribute towards a massive part of their lives.

A reminder to take a moment and breathe, and that I enjoy just being outdoors!

"By the end of our final training day I felt fully prepared to go and do my absolute best Forest School sessions that I could for the children. I have changed the way I see the world and even with my own 2 year old daughter; I try harder not to interfere so much and let her lead the way. This is how I will approach all of my sessions.
It feels now that anything is possible in Forest School and I will go away with an open mind and an open heart.” Johanna K Level 3 Student 2014

Dear Tom, Andy and Jason
Thank you for arranging and then facilitating such a memorable experience. You even made the woods a 'dry' haven on a day of rain elsewhere. Your attention to detail is to be commended and the exercises were both fun and informative. Best wishes -Emily.

Focus 12 Activity Days with Green Light Trust
Dear Becs and Jasper,
I wanted to write on behalf of the children and parents of RAF Honington to thank you for your hard work during our recent visit. I know the children all had a fantastic time and this was mainly due to the effort you put into the programme. A number of parents have approached me since, to say how much their children have talked about eh bug-hunting, wooden necklace making and the various games.
We currently have a large number of deployed personnel and the pressure on families during the summer is very stressful. We aim for summer programme to make things a little easier. So thanks again for the hard work you put in and I know we will return with more children soon.
Nicholas, Community Development Officer, RAF Honington.
Eco-Discovery Learning days.
To all at Green Light Trust, especially, Rich, Feathers, Jo and Hana!
Thank you for two wonderful days that have re-energised and re-centered me, and given me confidence in my own instincts again. The concept of experiencing the days 'for yourself' made a profound impression on me and, I think, everyone else.
Terry, CPD course Attendee.

Only two little words 'thank you' but they hardly seem enough to explain my gratitude for all the support and non judgemental approach and you have inspired me during my time with Green Light Trust.
Peter, Green Care Attendee
"Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed the day in the woods. The Leaders were brilliant, the venue perfect and the activities aimed at the right level to support us, inform us, but not hurry us. Thank you so much.
Woodland Retreat Day - August 2014
Dear Hana and Jo
I just wanted to say a BIG thank you again for the amazing training last week, you two have an amazing gift to be able to deliver training in such a dynamic, fun, productive and emotional way.
I have worked in Ashdon Forest School for 2 years and love the whole concept of Forest Schools and have always felt that I wanted to give the children an experience that I feel so many children don't get - like I had in my childhood, but have not really thought about it deeper than that.
Your training made me think about how we develop, how we learn, how influenced we are by the world around us, negative speech/behaviour and how this affects a child. I feel so excited about teaching children; about their senses, 'art of wondering', practical skills etc.
I have thought a lot about my own childhood, my children and children that I have worked with - and the stress and pressure they have had to deal with and how this has affected them and how I can support, help and guide by running forest school sessions.
I have just got back from FS, it was a grey and very wet session but i loved it and so did the kids !!!
Loved it - THANK YOU
Lili, FS Level 3, Oct 2013 Attendee

The Lapwing programme, (1 day per week term time, environmental experience) based at The Foundry. Green Light Trust have provided expert tuition and support to a group of Lapwing students with a diverse range of complex needs. They have been flexible in their approach to the student’s individual programmes, allowing them to learn at their own pace and develop valuable skills which they can take into their future lives. They have worked closely with Lapwing throughout to help ensure successful outcomes for even the most challenging students.
Sophy Jones, Director of Development and Education, Lapwing
The impact of our partnership with GLT is seen in the improvement in attendance, behaviour and engagement showing our pupils that they can achieve. I have seen
pupils who initially had such poor self-esteem and confidence, it was affecting their academic attainment, but by succeeding for the first time in making, building, growing and developing a connection with the natural environment; they have seen they can achieve. These experiences will hopefully continue to develop in our pupils a lasting affinity with nature and their surroundings.

Matthew, Green Care Attendee.
Since Matthew started attending Green Light Trust approx. 1 year ago, his fitness levels, physical health, ability to concentrate and share things with others have improved significantly. Staff at Green Light Trust have done a fantastic job at structuring his days so he knows what is expected of him and what he expects of others.
Staff have embraced the opportunity to learn Makaton signs that Matthew uses, supporting and encouraging him to complete a pictorial vocabulary sheet for other people working with him to use. With support from staff, Matthew has been working towards his Practical, Environmental and Conservational Level 2 qualification which is a great achievement for him and something he can use in the future.
Sarah Eden, Matthew's Social Worker
I found the whole experience so valuable, not only on a professional level as a Nursery Manager and Early Years practitioner, but also on a personal level. I am already sharing the passion and ideas with my staff team that I wish for our setting to take on board.
Nursery Manager, Forest School course attendee.
The benefits were many and included exercise, peace of mind, team working, increased self-esteem and confidence and whilst this cannot be solely attributed to the GLT project it clearly became an important part of the clients’ treatment journey.
