    Team Leader

    Lorna joined the Green Light Trust in March 2015 as Environmental Education Team Leader. She runs Woodland programs at Minsmere Nature Reserve, including development work to increase partnership opportunities and provide 1:1 support with those taking part on TCHC funded programs .

    Her previous career with Suffolk Wildlife Trust spanned 13 years; running two Education Centres in West and East Suffolk, as well as being responsible for the bulk of youth work projects for SWT, centred in Lowestoft. 

    She established solid working partnerships with key agencies (e.g. YMCA Training, MIND, Access Community Trust, PRUs, EOTAS) and ran diverse, tailored environmental programmes to encourage self development and practical skills in young people.

  • Michaela Woollatt - BSc (Honours) Environmental Science

    Team Leader

    Michaela has spent her career working in the environmental sector - formally as Chief of Operations for Europes biggest IT recycling company and more recently as Education Editor for a grassroots environmental newspaper.

    Michaela has spent her career working in the environmental sector - formally as Chief of Operations for Europes biggest IT recycling company and more recently as Education Editor for a grassroots environmental newspaper.

    Michaela is a keen advocate of raising awareness of the benefits of the natural environment on mental health and works with several of Green Light Trust’s client groups including young adults with special needs, primary school intervention groups, PRU teenagers as well as adults recovering from mental health issues. Michaela also works as part of the Green Light Trust ECOS team

  • Steve Eastley

    Team Leader - Project Wild Haven

    Steve joined the Green Light Trust in September 2015 after moving to Suffolk from Cornwall, where he was a self-employed gardener and Forest School Leader. Steve is now our Environmental Education Team Leader for Project Wild Haven in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk and occasionally helps lead bushcraft and Green Care sessions at our woods here in Lawshall.

    Having graduated with a BSc degree in Rural Studies, Steve has worked in various team leader roles in practical conservation, environmental education and amenity horticulture. He qualified as a level 3 Forest School Leader in 2004 at Bridgwater College in Somerset and has worked with children, young people and adults in this role. He is qualified as an adult learning teacher and vocational assessor and has extensive experience of working with disadvantaged groups in practical outdoor work on various environmental programmes and projects.

    Forest School tutor & Environmental Education Team Leader

    Eloise has a passion for nature and facilitating in a child-centred way.

    Eloise has a passion for nature and facilitating in a child-centred way.

    She enjoys creating a space where children feel safe to explore and get to know themselves and the environment better.

    Eloise joined the Green Light Trust as a team leader in September 2016, working in schools and on other programmes such as Children's Bushcraft and Woodland Minds.

    She has been a Forest School tutor since 2017.

    She is a Forest School Level 3 Leader, Bushcraft enthusiast & Nature Connection Facilitator.

  • Ian Carrington

    Team Assist

    When Ian left BT in 2008, Green Light Trust offered him some part time work with building and grounds maintenance.

    When Ian left BT in 2008, Green Light Trust offered him some part time work with building and grounds maintenance.

    He moved to Lawshall in 1985 and has had a helping hand in many activities and groups within the village.  He became Chairman of the local school PTA in 1988 and kept this role for 8 years, whilst his children attended the school.

    In 1994 he and a colleague started the Youth Club for the teenagers of Lawshall, which he then jointly ran for 10 years.  During this time he joined GLT and also the local Community-Owned WildSpace, Forest for Our Children, in Lawshall; where Ian is still a committee member and volunteer in the woodland work parties.

    Ian also helps out with a local charity called Project 7 who raise money during the year and then once a year the money is distributed to over 50 local groups every year.

    Team Leader, Norfolk

    Frances joined Green Light Trust in 2011. Having grown up in rural West Sussex, exploring and playing in acres of woodland near to her home, Frances feels her heart is in the countryside. Frances works alongside Sarah in Norfolk and says that working for GLT enables her to share her love of nature and wildlife with others, whilst utilising her skills in understanding people, helping them to achieve a greater sense of well-being through building their connection with the natural environment.

    For twenty years Frances pursued a career in nursing in the NHS; learning to care for a multitude of people, helping them to come to terms and deal with the challenges of life and illness.  During this time Frances was fortunate enough to live and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Somerset and Avon, County Durham Scotland and now more recently Norfolk.

  • Jasper Kemp BSc DipHE

    Team Leader, Suffolk

    Jasper has been involved with Green Light from a young age. Having taken part in some of the earliest tree planting programmes at the local school, he is keen to provide some inspiration for others; so that they can re-discover their own connections with nature.

    Jasper has been involved with Green Light from a young age. Having taken part in some of the earliest tree planting programmes at the local school, he is keen to provide some inspiration for others; so that they can re-discover their own connections with nature.

    Jasper read Zoology at University and has extensive experience in primitive skills and technology.  He has studied at both Tom Brown Jnr's Tracker School in the United States and Native Awareness School of Primative Survival in the UK and teaches tracking to a wide range of people from children, to disaffected teenagers, to adults. He also has some experience with green wood working, flint knapping and traditional tanning.

    Jasper leads some of the Green Care activities and Bushcraft courses and assists with the delivery of some of the other educational programmes.

  • Pia S-Bennett

    Team Leader

    Pia joined the Green Light Trust in September 2016 having spent a considerable part of her career working as a secondary school teacher both in Geography and Media/English departments.

    Pia joined the Green Light Trust in September 2016 having spent a considerable part of her career working as a secondary school teacher both in Geography and Media/English departments.

    Her last teaching position provided her with the additional training needed to teach SEN students, who benefited from weekly farm visits. Pia would like to see more emphasis on outdoor learning within schools as she observed a multitude of benefits on her student’s development during this time. Pia also has previous experience working with young offenders.

    Alongside her teaching career, Pia pursues her childhood passion for the outdoors and the environment by working part-time as a consultant at Levington Laboratories and has conducted post-graduate research within this sector. Her love for wildlife is reflected in her work and writing.

    Pia's experiences gained in environmental management, ranging from land surveys to the assessment of soil and water pollution, give her a broad understanding of environmental issues. Her most enjoyable task working in this sector however, has been managing secondary school work placement students, preparing and organising field trips and wildlife surveys.

    Much of her spare time is spent with family and enjoying the countryside. Pia also contributes to charity work, where she volunteers at local homeless shelters and overseas with Lighthouse Refugee Relief.

  • Alister Jones MSc

    Team Leader

    Alister joined the Trust as an Team Leader in 2016.

    Alister joined the Trust as an Team Leader in 2016.

    His interests include; Therapeutic Horticulture, Forest Schools, Bushcraft, Nature Connection and using the natural environment to build confidence and self esteem.

     

    Alister works with our Green Care participants, along with other groups and workshops such as the Children's Bushcraft.

  • Will Poyntz

    Team Leader

    Will joined Green Light Trust in September 2016 as a team leader on a variety of programmes. He spent the previous six years working as a bushcraft instructor with children and adults

    Will joined Green Light Trust in September 2016 as a team leader on a variety of programmes. He spent the previous six years working as a bushcraft instructor with children and adults

    Will spent three years leading residential bushcraft trips for schools in an ancient forest, including nights in natural shelters, wild lake swimming and cooking game on the campfire. He then undertook a two year apprenticeship at Woodsmoke bushcraft school in Cumbria, learning bow making, tracking, foraging and going on expeditions to learn from indigenous people in Namibia and Borneo.

    In the winter he carved wooden craft for sale and went snow camping in Sweden and Canada. He has also worked as a mountain leader and on a Pennsylvania summer camp, and is a qualified yacht skipper.

    He loves sharing his all-round enthusiasm for being outdoors and making things out of trees.

    Team Leader

    After graduating from a Countryside Management degree in 2015, Ashley began volunteering at Green Light Trust's Project Wild Haven in Great Yarmouth.

    After graduating from a Countryside Management degree in 2015, Ashley began volunteering at Green Light Trust's Project Wild Haven in Great Yarmouth.

    Ashley now assists on Green Care courses and other GLT projects in Suffolk and Norfolk. He continues to help with habitat management at Project Wild Haven.

    Wherever he is  based his aim is to share his  passion for wildlife with others and to teach people more about the natural world.
