OCN Level 2 - Forest School Assistant

This course is a Nationally recognised accreditation for all those wishing to assist with the running of a Forest School.

What does the course involve?

You will take part in a range of activities including knot tying, shelter-building, whittling, outdoor games and story-telling. You will also gain an understanding of woodland ecology; the wildlife, trees and plants on a site, and how to manage the impact of a FS session on this ecology.

The course comprises of 60 hours, Tutor led training, delivered over two weekends. Followed by 28 hours of self-directed study over a three month period. As part of the self-study, students must arrange to assist and record observations of a minimum of 3 sessions, led by a qualified Level 3 Practitioner.

Who can take part?

This course is open to anyone with two or more years experience working with children, for example Teachers, Nursery Nurses and LSAs. You must have a current CRB certificate to take part.

How much does it cost?

The course costs: £445 per person. A £50 non-refundable deposit will secure your place with the balance to be paid before the course commences.

This course is run from The Foundry, Lawshall, Bury St Edmunds. IP29 4PJ

19th and 20th May and the 9th and 10th June.
