This course is the perfect introduction if you're interested in learning more about Forest School teaching techniques or would like to work at an existing Forest School.
What does the course involve?
This introductory course involves 30 hours learning about Forest School in an outdoor setting through a combination of theory and practical activities. Following the Tutor led training days, students must arrange to take part in at least 1 Forest School session and write up their observations.
The course will help participants develop an understanding of:
- identifcation of common woodland birds, plants and animals
- hazards and risks in an outdoor setting
- how to support learners outdoors
- using the outdoors as a resource for learning
Who can take part?
This course is open to anyone with 2 or more years experience working with children - for example teachers, nursery nurses and LSAs. You must have a current CRB certificate to take part.
How much does it cost?
This course costs £285 per person. A £50 non-refundable deposit will secure your place with the balance to be paid before the course commences.
When and where does the course take place?
This course is run from The Foundry in Lawshall, Bury St Edmunds.
