RSPB Minsmere is an internationally important nature reserve on the Suffolk coast between Aldeburgh and Southwold, it covers an area of about 4sq miles. Most visiting the reserve would agree it is a truly magical place.
Minsmere has incredibly high quality wetland habitats; you can hear the Bitterns booming and see the Avocets from one of the many hides on the reserve. You will find groups from the Green Light Trust down the less well-trodden paths into the woods.
Working in areas of the reserve that are lower priority habitat GLT contribute to the coppicing and management of these areas to increase habitat for the species reliant on the dappled sunlight in woodlands. These quiet serene areas of the reserve are ideal for the groups working with us. Just follow the smell of wood smoke to find them.
