LCC Grants

SMEs participating in the project will be eligible for a grant of up to £3,000 that will pay for 50% of the total cost of a carbon reduction project. The remaining 50% will need to be paid by the SME. A minimum of 10 grants between £500 and £3,000 will be provided.

Applications will be judged on the basis of the SME's commitment to improving their environmental performance and how big an impact their proposed project will have in terms of CO2 reduction. As a minimum, the applicant will have had an audit carried out either directly through the Low Carbon Champions project or through the Suffolk Climate Change Partnership and had at least 16 hours of mentoring support.

Grant forms and guidelines can be found here.

Update: EU procurement rules

All prospective grant recipients of public money need to comply with EU procurement rules and supply additional quotes with their project proposal if necessary, depending on the total value of the project as follows:

  1. Project value less than £500.00: one oral quote
  2. Project value more than £500.00 but less than £20,000: at least two written quotations
  3. More than £20,000, less than £50,000: three written quotations based on clear specification

A quote could be also a page from a catalogue or a recent screenshot from a website.

Update: Feed in tariffs

New legislation about Feed In Tariffs means that organisations will not be able to benefit from Feed In Tariffs if they have received any publicly funded grant to fund the capital investment of renewable technology. However, there are some exceptions, so give us a call to discuss. Fore more information click here.
