Greener Lives work with young people is boosted by a funding grant from BAA Community Fund.

An inspiring educational course delivered by the one of the Green Light Trust’s Environmental Education Leaders has benefitted from a generous grant from BAA Stansted Community Fund.  The course  took place in Harlow at Parndon wood with a new school; Burnt Mills and lasted 6 weeks involving young men who were at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training).  This project worked in partnership with Young Concern Trust, Harlow to develop various social, emotional and health skills for the the 6 young men.   Skills such as fire lighting, tracking, tool use, cooking and communicating were all aspects of the training given.

Marcella M’Rabety, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at BAA said, ”We’re delighted that London Stansted Airport can support these incredibly worthwhile projects that benefit young people within Harlow schools. We are all aware these are very difficult economic times, and that the aviation sector continues to be affected by the downturn, so we are particularly pleased to be able to support Green Light Trust and continue to demonstrate the strength of our commitment to the local communities surrounding the airport.”
