How we support schools

Establishing a link

If your school is interested in taking part in From Seed to Tree, please contact us. We'll let you know about community projects in your area where we're working with local people or businesses to plant woodlands and wild spaces.

Once you've teamed up with a community project the annual cycle of From Seed to Tree can begin. A member of the community who is working on the project will be appointed as a 'School Link' to work with your school and act as your main point of contact.

The first few years

For the first year or two, a Green Light Trust leader will work with your school and the School Link, acting as a mentor to help get your project up and running.

A long-term plan

For continued advice and all the materials you need to continue your project year after year, we've written a 5 Step Handbook especially for schools. The handbook is based on our years of experience leading school tree planting projects across the country, and it's only £25 for schools already linked to a community project.
