WORK FOR SCHOOLS with Green Light
|
|
From Seed to Tree An annual cycle of activities for schools involved in our Woodland projects. This offers pupils a long-term connection to a developing wood engaging them at the heart their community. The 5 Step programme can begin at any key stage and is differentiated accordingly. It takes the pupil from collecting & planting tree seeds to transplanting their own saplings into their wood. 'The beauty of From Seed to Tree is its focus for the whole school. It links the local to the global & makes cross-curricular links too' |
Sustainable Past, Sustainable Future
Whilst visiting Green Light Trust's Foundry building and community woodland, pupils meet characters from the past. Actors bring to life real people who lived in and around The Foundry site from its origins in 1840. Through hearing their stories and working through structured learning activities, pupils create a blueprint for a future community. 'Great for encouraging historic enquiry skills and your resources were fantastic' |

"I really enjoyed it very much. I love getting really muddy. The best bit was when we dug the hole and rocked the spade about. Andrea cut a worm in half. I hope the trees will grow nicely."
