Documentary of the Papua New Guinea Cultural Exchange

22/09/2010

Back in July, five members of our global kindship with Papua New Guinea were our guests in Lawshall for three weeks. The chief of the Eagle Clan - Kaky Yafei - was accompanied by four villagers of the Hunstein Range: Maui, Pamela, Vero and Raymond. They came to see how we live in England, and to show us how they live in their country.

Here is the video of their visit, showing how to weave, hunt, and build a traditional rainforest Hauswin, or Wind House.

Emberiza schoeniclus

As the name suggests, the Reed Bunting is most commonly found in wet vegetation, but has spread to farmland and, in winter, to our gardens.
