Community & cohesion

We believe that by building strong connections between local people, schools, businesses and nature, we can make a lasting difference to the environment and people's attitudes to nature.

That's why helping communities to establish and maintain their own areas of natural beauty has become an essential part of our work. Planting and managing a community wild space brings local people together, and the stunning recreational area they create generates a feeling of pride and ownership amongst the community.

All of our community projects have 4 clear aims, which you can read more about in Benefits for the community:

  • To build a strong sense of community spirit
  • To provide environmental education opportunities for local children
  • To increase wildlife and biodiversity in the area
  • To exchange knowledge and build friendships with communities overseas.
