communities of interest and young people
- One alarming result of the credit crunch has been a growing number of young people slipping through the net of education and employment.
- We are committed to meeting and helping to alleviate the plight of disaffected youth both rural an urban.
- Our method is to offer unique programmes of empowerment combining woodland/conservation skills with team building, social awareness and an opportunity for young people to re-connect with the natural world.
- This can help them to develop confidence, open new doors of possibility, and increase their general health and sense of well being.
- We are already pioneering a new programme with the teenagers of a referral unit in Suffolk; piloting a programme for the clients of a drug rehabilitation agency in Essex; and planning a programme for the mentally vulnerable in partnership with MIND in Norfolk.
- Funding permitting, we also hope to be able to offer courses for Young Carers and NEET young people across East Anglia and beyond.
