Daniel was struggling with school because of low self-esteem, poor motivation, and finding social situations difficult.

Daniel participated in a Woodland ACE course with other students from King Edward VI Upper School, completing an ABC Level 1 Award in Practical Environmental and Conservation Skills. As a result he has become more confident and has excelled in the outdoor environment. It has helped him to become more focused at school. His attendance has always been good, but has improved. Friendship groups have also improved. Barriers have been broken with other students on the course. Daniel has been inspired to begin making post 16 learning opportunities, including apprenticeships. Daniel has now attended an interview at Otley College and been offered a place beginning in September 2014.
