Whilst Green Light Trust is not able to confer a quality standard on Forest School partners we do like to acknowledge commitment. Scallywags Day Nursery at Oakington, Cambridge marked a big achievement on Thursday 30th January. Over recent years 7 of it's staff have qualified as Forest School Assistant Leaders (Level 2 qualification) and 1 member of staff qualified as Forest School Leader (Level 3 qualification) with training provided by Green Light Trust.
Children and staff welcomed Ashley Seaborne, the Green Light Trust’s CEO and Greener Lives Programme Director to the nursery as he handed over a plaque to celebrate the nursery’s first year as a ‘Forest School’. Scallywags’ was awarded the plaque for its success in achieving FS qualifications for so many of its staff. Sam (Yellow Room) ran a Forest School session in the nursery’s fields where the children made willow crowns and had a lot of fun in the specially created 'Mud Kitchen'. The presentation took place during the session, and Ashley and the children also blew out a single candle on a birthday cake to celebrate this one year milestone.
